I'm the one who does the work
DataMaxGen is a Spanish data consultancy. I automate the reports mid-sized companies still rebuild by hand every month, so they stop losing a week to it and can trust their own figures. The company is recent; the experience behind it isn't.

Founder and technical lead. Years solving complex data projects in Spain and the UK (Manchester and London), both inside companies and independently. He runs the first meeting and builds the data model.
I've seen the same thing in company after company
Good teams making important decisions with data they don't quite trust. Not for lack of talent, but because nobody has taken the manual work underneath each report off their hands.
In a company of 50 or 150 people there's rarely a data team. There's a finance director spending the first week of every month consolidating spreadsheets, an IT person with plenty on already, and a macro built by someone who has left and that nobody dares to touch. And the budget the big consultancies ask for to fix it bears no relation to the real size of the problem.
DataMaxGen exists to sit exactly there: take one specific report, leave it running on its own, charge a fixed price for it and walk away having documented everything. No twelve-month projects and no new dependency. What's new is the company, not the way of working: it's the same one I've used to deliver projects far more tangled than a monthly close.

And why not a big consultancy, or someone on staff?
It's the right question before hiring anyone. Here's the honest comparison, without selling any of the three options.

| What matters to you | Hiring me | A big consultancy | An internal hire |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who does the work | I do, start to finish. The person you talk to is the one who builds it. | A senior sells it to you; a junior consultant you get assigned delivers it. | Someone you can't really evaluate until they've already been on payroll for months. |
| Real cost | Just the project. No social security, no severance, no holiday pay to cover. | Fees, plus their overhead, plus their margin. Cost per effective hour is usually higher. | Salary plus payroll taxes (roughly 30% extra), plus possible severance if it doesn't work out. |
| When it ends | When I deliver the project. No notice period, no cost to walk away. | Long contracts, with minimum terms and clauses designed to make leaving costly. | An open-ended contract doesn't just end: severance, notice period, risk of an unfair-dismissal claim. |
| Guarantee before you hire | Certifications, past cases and experience you can check before signing anything. | Sold by a salesperson; quality depends on who you get assigned. | You don't know if they're actually qualified until the mistake has already happened. |
| Future maintenance | Built so it doesn't need patching every couple of months. | Depends who last touched it, and consultants rotate off accounts. | If the person leaves —and turnover in data roles is high— the knowledge leaves with them. |
| Flexibility | You hire me when there's a project. Nothing fixed in between. | You pay for their overhead whether there's a lot of work that month or none. | A salary every month, whether or not there's real workload for that person. |
Hiring well for this is hard if you don't know the industry: you don't know what to ask or how to check if someone's actually qualified. With a big consultancy, whoever sells it to you isn't whoever delivers it. With me, you see who you're working with before you commit to anything.
And that's a decision, not a stage
I work alone, with few projects at a time, by choice. It seems more useful that you know before writing to me.
There's an uncomfortable side: I don't take on twelve-month transformations, and there are things I don't do. And there's a good side: no salesperson selling you one thing and a junior delivering another, you don't pay for anyone's overhead, and when something doesn't add up you ask the person who built it directly.
Always a fixed price
You know the cost before I start. If it takes me longer than planned, that's my problem, not yours.
Everything documented on delivery
My goal isn't for you to depend on me. It's that you could carry on without me if you ever wanted to.
I say no when I should
If in the first meeting I see you don't need me, or need something else, I'll tell you. It works out better for both.
